It is not surprising if you see too many natural phenomena in the United States, because it is almost a continent with an area more than 9.5 square kilometers. But it is amazing to see many different environments and phenomena gathering in an area as big as 1/6 of United States. My homeland, Iran, is a land which holds too many geological wonders as far as other natural characteristics. I took this picture from Hormuz Island in Persian Gulf which shows the unique aggregate of gypsum. Geologically speaking, this island is a salt dome and is an active geological environment.
This island is also known for its high quality iron oxide deposit which is used in the world's finest cosmetic products.
